darker skin/hair or lighter skin/ hair?
Also keep in mind that this isn't his final sprite... just trying to figure out his design!
I've always had a hard time drawing characters that look over the age of 12 o_x
But after redoing Reimei at least 7 times I think I'm happy with him... he's 19, so I want him to look at least a *little* older than my usual characters, who are normally high school age.
Anyway, Reimei is I guess the main guy of C[N]. (Though, I won't tell you who the true ending is with ;D)Because I'm trying to break stereotypes, he's not quite a tsundere... though he is close. He's definitely a
complicated person with many sides.
Now, I'm still not sure how I want the other two guys to look. I really want one of them to have a ponytail though. Cause manly ponytails are just awesome 8D
Pretty nice. Although when you say "older dudes" -- I keep thinking in the region of 25-30's. lol. But older guys and women usually have a bit of padding to their face. (30s+), unless they've been in a famine or eat like a bird up to that age... Heh. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Haha, older dudes for me is like... over the age of 16, since I've always done high school stories until now. But yeah, drawing people over the age of 25 is whole different story XD
ReplyDeleteHeh :) It's alright. Hmm, I think the right looks better. The left (lighter) makes him look washed out or something.
ReplyDeleteHm..well,Id say that the one on the right looks like it has more depth and looks more lifelike or something, if ya know what I mean :] but either one looks great anyway! Your art is just *v* (drools)
ReplyDeletehmm, maybe you should put some kind of background behind him? or a colour maybe, just to give you a better idea of what context the sprites are going to be in. that helps me with my colouring. C:
ReplyDeleteso far I like the left one better, though~
I like the second picture best. It's more defined, it's easier to make out his facial features. Both look nice, and both hair colors look nice, but the extra shading in the second one makes it pop more. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the first pic better. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually like the one on the left a LOT better. (I actually completely love it). The one on the right kind of looks like a creepy serial killer u.o
ReplyDeleteAhaha, opinions are really mixed, so I don't know anymore XD;
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that your opinions are so different, considering all I did was darken the colors using the variation tool. I didn't change anything at all, really, lol.
I think it's most because older people tend to have smaller eyes, so when it darkens it becomes a bit scary :P
ReplyDeleteI prefer the second one.
ReplyDeleteBut wow, he does look mature (and hot) in both of them.

ReplyDeleteI think maybe if you just darkened the hair on the left one it might look better? ^^ I'm not sure though~~
ReplyDelete(apparently I removed my previous comment O__o i have no idea what i'm doing!!)
I prefer the first, it just looks better :]
ReplyDeleteHmm..
ReplyDeleteI think I like the second picture a little bit more, although I like the skin color of the first picture more. So maybe you can do the light skin color but still darken the hair?
I think the second one (dark one) looks better, the light one looks too much...light? Dark colors make him look so cool and mature, so..2nd one ^^
ReplyDeleteI think the second fits better... ^^
ReplyDeleteThe first one, look so much... Washed?? I don't know...
But for me the second look older and more... Interesting! ^^
Probably the second one (the darker one) (:
ReplyDeleteThey both look great though!
the darker one but with light hair i think would fit in. But they both look terrific.
ReplyDeleteI think it all depends on what personality they are going to have.
ReplyDeleteThe lighter looks like a gentle, caring character.
The darker looks like a more manly and mature character.
I like them both =3
I would choose the image with the darker hair.
